Dario Franceschini

Minister for Heritage, Culture and Tourism

Dario Franceschini (Ferrara, 19th October 1958) is an Italian politician, lawyer and writer. Since 22nd February 2014 he has held the role of Minister for Heritage, Culture and Tourism in the Renzi government.

From 22nd December 1999 to 11th June 2001 he was Undersecretary of State for the Prime Minister’s Office in the D’Alema II and Amato II governments, while from 28th April 2013 to 22nd February 2014, he held the position of Minister for Parliamentary Relations and the coordination of government activity in Letta’s government.

He was national secretary of the Democratic Party from 21st February to 25th October 2009, and group president of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives from 17th November 2009 to 19th March 2013.
