Marcello holds an MS in Management and Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Milan, Italy. He began his career in 2000 as Business Development Manager at the MOL Group, a consumer finance start-up, which is now the largest mortgage broker in Italy. In 2002, he joined General Electric’s Leadership Program, holding product manager and supply chain manager roles in several locations in Europe. In 2005 and 2006, he became Director of Global Operations of GE’s UPS business.

Marcello joined the GLF programme in 2006. He worked at the Forum until 2010 as Head of the Retail and Consumer Goods Industries, expanding the community and developing strategic projects in the areas of sustainability and innovation. After the Forum, Marcello joined the leading Internet travel company Expedia as Director of Strategy and Business Development. He is responsible for developing the strategy of the Lodging business and for executing large global initiatives.
