The web is not a washing machine: new writings and new languages in the digital environment

In Italian

The stories and language of the web have a tempo and structure that are gradually being adapted and / or clarified with the development of constraints and “models” generated by the need for speed, conciseness and effectiveness.

In this panel, Basilicata becomes the background and the example from which to explore a topic of general interest, which is precisely that of new digital languages.

So, there is a twist in the language, which can be considered a matter of absolute evidence that it relates not only to the writing, and therefore textual dimensions, but to the spoken and visual language itself.

Expanding on this reflection and taking into account new communication channels such as Facebook and Twitter, the tension in searching for suitable languages is a factor that requires attention, and makes this requirement even more obvious.

The objective of the panel is to encourage reflection on how a journalist and a poet engage on this issue. Ultimately it aims to provide some interpretation starting from direct experiences, on the relationship between acquired language as an instrument of profession training and constraints, conditioning or simply the “environmental conditions” of digital languages.
