Together, towards Italy 2019. the city’s plans following the challenge for European culture capital [II]

Two consecutive slots totalling 1 hour and 50 minutes, dedicated to Nominations for European Capital of Culture 2019; this is the second slot.

The protagonists talk about their application experiences and ideas for cooperation after the competition, as partners with Skyscanner.

The panel will explore two temporal and strategic dimensions of tourism and cultural promotion activities for the cities involved.

Firstly, this represents an unprecedented opportunity to initiate a retrospective debate between the finalist cities on their long journey of candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2019.

The protagonists will discuss the ideas presented and their effectiveness, the priorities set out in the relevant dossiers, the impact that finding out about their nomination has had on the nearby regions and the possible weaknesses of their programs. Their stories will serve as a long term planning example, both for the public at the event, and for other Italian cities interested in replicating similar experiences.

The ‘Italy in 2019’ project will then be explained in further detail, through an examination of its aims and purposes of cooperation between all the cities involved.

Which projects will come to light?
How can we set a worthy precedent that benefits not only those involved, but also Italian tourism and culture?
What will be the biggest and most exciting challenges in constructing a product/service that can enhance the available resources, as well as attract new, external resources?

Building on this momentum about the project and extended co-operation, the partnership of the cities nominated for European Capital of Culture in 2019 will be presented, with the search engine Skyscanner, through a discussion of objectives and planned activities (all starting with research on the Future of Tourist Destinations, also open to other corporate bodies), all going towards Italy in 2019, but whose potential – in which the company firmly believes – will be raised over the next few months.
